 Wiesbaden - Kursaal

Following a summer break the Festival Orchestra appeared in the second half of August at two prestigious music festivals: on August 19th at Germany's Rheingau Festival in Wiesbaden, two days later, on August 21st at the "Dvorák's Prague" Festival in the Czech capital.

Both concerts featured a Dvorák-Schumann programme and were conducted by Music Director Iván Fischer. Audiences heard Dvorák's "American" Suite for large orchestra and the Czech composer's Legend in C-Flat minor Op.59.No.6., coupled with two Schumann works, the Concert Piece for Four Horns and Orchestra in F Major and Symphony No.3. The soloists of the Schumann concerto were members of the BFO's horn section: Zoltán Szőke, Dávid Bereczky, András Szabó and Zsombor Nagy.

The BFO, founded in 1983 by Fischer and Zoltán Kocsis, is the youngest of Europe`s elite orchestras {...} It is at once thrilling and extremely charming to see a group of musicians joining forces to strive for perfection, compelled by the true spirit of music.
