Continuing a tradition of almost 20 years, the Festival Orchestra closed its 2009/2010 Budapest concert season on June 27th with a free open-air concert on Heroes' Square in downtown Budapest. The concert was the closing event of the Budapest Farewell Festivities organized by the Municipality of Budapest.

The one-hour long programme conducted by music director Iván Fischer (and sponsored by Budapest Bank) featured Franz Schubert Symphony No.9. in C Major ("The Great").
