Cocoa concerts

The one hour concerts of short pieces in small ensembles are adapted for children. Orchestra soloists and chamber musicians lead the children in listening to classical music. The concerts are for children between the ages of 5 and 12. Unfortunately, children under 4 years of age can not share in these concerts. The spoken segments of the programme are in the Hungarian language. The seating at the Cocoa Concerts is not reserved.

In the 2010/2011 season there are four Saturday-Sunday concert days, with two concerts on each day, one at 2.30 pm., an another at 4.30 pm., with the same programme:

19 September, 2010
7 November, 2010
9 January, 2011
24 April, 2011

The Master of Ceremonies at the Cocoa concerts is Iván Fischer. The tickets are 2.300 HUF, which naturally includes a cup of cocoa.

The BFO lavished great musicality and the strings shimmered during Dvorák`s Sixth Symphony.{...} And when Fischer and the orchestra turned their attentions to Strauss bonbons and Lehár ditties on Friday and Saturday nights, they outsparkled the obligatory pyrotechnics at program`s end.
